In early April, Changsha's Yanghu Wetland Park turns into a sea of purple flowers as it is blanketed with moss phlox blossoms. About 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of purple carpet-like flowers are in full bloom inside the natural reserve, attracting large crowds of visitors.
The Central China city has been striving to protect the local ecological environment and has set the goal of building 86 parks in both urban and rural areas this year to create better living conditions for local residents.
