Suzhou National Environmental New & Hi-tech Industrial Park

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China approved construction of the first national environmental new and hi-tech industrial park, Suzhou National Environmental New & Hi-tech Industrial Park, in February 2001. The park, the first entrepreneurial operated national park, is managed by Suzhou National Environmental New & Hi-tech Industrial Park Development Co Ltd, which was founded in January, 2003, with a registered capital of 85 million yuan ($13.53 million).

Suzhou National Environmental New & Hi-tech Industrial Park focuses on incubating and developing technologies to improve the environmental protection industrial service system.

The park has two parts – area A and area B. Area A is located in the Suzhou national hi-tech industrial area, and covers an area of 378 mu (25.2 hectare). It occupies 222,983 square meters and has an investment of 280 million yuan. Area B, sitting in the south of Kunlunshan Road in Suzhou New District (SND), covers 204 areas and has a building area of 81,005 square meters. With an investment of 121.88 million yuan, it consists mainly of mechanical processing plants.
