Railway

Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway is a transport artery across Shandong province which connects Qingdao and Jinan; it is China’s first passenger railway line to open to traffic with a total length of 362.5km. 

The section between Jimo and Rongcheng of Qingdao-Rongcheng Intercity Railway was opened on Oct 28, 2014. 

The land expropriation and relocation of Jiqing High Speed Railway and Qinglian High Speed Railway have been implemented quickly. 

Metro Line 4 and 8 were put into construction in 2016 while construction of Metro Line 2, Metro Line 1, Blue Silicon Valley Inter-city Express and West Coast Inter-city Express has been accelerated. In the meantime, Metro Line 3 was put into full operation on Dec 18, 2016.

The long-term system of Qingdao Metro, or the “18448” Project, composes of 18 lines, including two branch lines, and over 40 stations. It has an investment of more than 400 billion yuan and a total length of 838 kilometers. 

Six metro lines of Line 1, 2, 4, 8, 11 and 13 are under construction in 2017 while the east part of Line 2 will be put into trial operation at the end of the year.
