It's the one of the most favorite and commonly eaten dishes among local residents in Dalian. It's strongly recommended visitors to the city should try this specialty. Though visitors may find it's not to their taste, natives' affinity and affection for this food are beyond words. To prepare the dish, a bulk of jelly, which is made by boiling potato flour and leaving it to cool down, is put into a pan with a small amount of oil. Then the jelly is cut into small pieces with a kitchen shovel before being pan-fried on low heat until it's crispy outside. It's served with toppings of stir-fried prawns and sliced whelk meat.
