Shanghai will create a better environment to help local emerging industries innovate and grow, said Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, on March 26 during a meeting with emerging industry leaders.
Li mentioned that Shanghai is accelerating its development as an international economic, financial, trade, shipping, and scientific and technological innovation center, seeking to become a modern metropolis with global influence.
To achieve the goal, the city will align itself with the world's highest standards, build up four brands – "Shanghai Services", "Made in Shanghai", "Shopping in Shanghai", and "Shanghai Culture" -- and improve its core competitiveness.
The industry leaders agreed that Shanghai is China's largest economic center and has comprehensive services and innovative resources. They were impressed by the city's efforts to keep optimizing the business environment and attracting global talents, and are willing to use their advantages to contribute to the city's economic and social development.
