Some 300 people turned out for an evening run under fluorescent lighting starting from a grassland park in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, to celebrate Earth Hour, on March 24, reports Baotou Daily.
The charity run, which was being held in the city for the third time, was designed to mark Earth Hour, a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) aimed at promoting environmental protection. The initiative aims to promote a healthy, low-carbon lifestyle and calls for public assistance to tackle environmental protection.
