Panel discussion on Guangzhou's international communication

The round-table conference hosted a panel discussion on how Guangzhou could enhance its international communication ability and innovate its communication methods.

Wang Yu, partner of A.T.Kearney, said that, international communication ability is an important indicator used to evaluate a city's influence and level of globalization. Guangzhou has been found to be constantly improving in this regard.

Doctor Wang Lei, researcher at the China Academy of Sciences, conducted a big data analysis of Guangzhou's international communication during the 2017 Fortune Global Forum. He found that the greatest two focus points were the EHang 1,000-drone light show and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's attendance at the conference. He believed that technical innovation and livable environment are what overseas audiences care most about in Guangzhou.

Li Jia, director of Wall Street Journal's operations in China, stressed the importance of Guangzhou's enterprising spirit, which is a globally valued character and was hence widely covered by numerous global media agencies during the 2017 Fortune Global Forum. "From a large number of these reports, we see the enterprising spirit of entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurship and service orientation lying in Guangzhou municipal government as well," Li added.
