Yangzhou, an ideal place for hot spring baths in winter

Yangzhou is a city well known for its hot spring resources.

As most of the city's popular hot spring resorts are clustered in its rural areas, the city has opened two shuttle buses from a designated place in the city's urban area to the Jiang Yang Tianle Lake Hotspring Resort in Yuetang county and the Yinju Yiyang Fenghuangdao Hotspring Resort in Taian county.

To celebrate the festival many restaurants are offering dishes based on dietary guidelines which retain the characteristics of the local food in Yanghzhou. The dishes include the traditional Jiangsu cuisine stewed goose and the nutritious sheep's haslet soup.

The festival uses hot spring services to satisfy tourists' needs to preserve health in winter. Yangzhou is striving to make the festival become the city's most popular winter tourism product to further accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the city's tourism, according to Chen Lingchun, deputy director of the Yangzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau.

Tourists who need to take a shuttle bus to Yinju Yiyang Fenghuangdao Hotspring Resort can buy tickets at the Yangzhou branch of China CYTS Tours Holding Co. The bus is in service on Saturdays and Sundays of every week. One-way tickets cost 98 yuan ($14.91) per person.

Those who want to have hot spring baths in Jiang Yang Tianle Lake Hotspring Resort can buy tickets in the Yangzhou branch of the Kaiyuan International Travel Agency. The bus is available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays of every week. One-way tickets for Wednesdays and Fridays cost 98 yuan; those for Sundays are 118 yuan.
