Famous singer Li Shuangjiang promotes Hainan for over 40 years

As a vocal educator and a doctorial supervisor, Li cares strongly about education issues in the mountainous area of Hainan. He has subsidized 60 Hainan ethnic impoverished students for years. However, the subsidies had been returned since 2006. Puzzled at first, he finally learnt that the tuition and fees were canceled in the nine-year obligation education period and all impoverished students in Hainan have benefitted from education poverty alleviation.

He paid a great deal of attention to Hainan students, especially Li and Miao ethnic members, when he taught in the Central Conservatory of Music. He trained them purposefully and gave directions in light of Hainan ethnic music characteristics. He thought it was difficult for Hainan students to be enrolled by a Beijing university, so he helped them in regard to pronunciation, intonation and vocal music theories. 

Li said that the standard of living was not high in the mountainous areas of Hainan 30 years ago. For example, it used to take a whole day to go from Haikou to Wuzhi Mountain. However, the journey is shortened to about four hours now with fully opened highways in the central area of the province. He expressed his congratulations on Hainan province's 30th anniversary and claimed that Hainan's development, obvious to all now, will be even better in the future.
