In order to boost tourism and improve supply-side structural reform, Guiyang plans to add three more 4A scenic spots, building a concentration of quality tourist attractions.
Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, is focusing on tourism with the goal of building itself into a world famous ecological tourism city. The city plans to accelerate construction of major tourism projects and carry out reforms on the tourism industry, according to a March 20 conference on Guiyang tourism.
The upgrading of national 5A scenic spots, such as Qingyan Ancient Town and Tianhetan Scenic Spot, as well as the construction of new 4A scenic spots, such as Quanhu Park and Yuewan International Hot Springs, is expected to increase tourist volume.

The city also plans to optimize the structure of the tourism industry. Rural tourism, cultural tourism, mountain tourism and other kinds of tourism will diversify Guiyang's tourism market.
The mountainous Guizhou province is considered by many to be the main battleground in China's crucial fight against poverty. As the capital city, Guiyang plans to speed up the process of poverty alleviation with the help of rural tourism.
All of the 120 impoverished villages in Guiyang, with their stunning mountains, lakes and forests, are ripe for tourism development. Scenic areas will be supplemented with catering, accommodation and retail infrastructure to help get villagers more involved.
