Shanghai International Studies University has two campuses, at Hongkou and Songjiang, with advanced educational facilities, including a world-class simultaneous interpretation system, satellite ground receiving device, closed circuit TV, wireless network, and a language lab.
The university has a faculty number of 1,300 and around 11,000 students. Its library is a member of China’s foreign language college library system, with two branches, and a collection of some 920,000 books (many of them in foreign languages) and 1.1 million e-books, among other things.
It has over 4,200 international students (2013) and an Office of International Student Affairs to oversee foreign student affairs and cater to their needs.
