Mengniu to establish national base for technical standards

Mengniu Dairy, one of China's dairy giants, recently received approval to establish a national innovation base for technical standards in the dairy sector during an assessment organized by the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China.

Mengniu is only the second selected dairy company to establish a base of this kind, after Chinese white goods manufacturer Haier.

As a leading company in the dairy sector, Mengniu's innovative spirit has driven it to achieve a number of industry firsts. It has also established standards for the benefit of the whole industry.

At present, Mengniu has developed more than 3,000 technical standards, and 130 standard modules of its industrial chain. The company has 851 effective patents, of which 168 are patents for invention. It has undertaken many large-scale projects such as the National 863 Program and the plan of the National Ministry of Science and Technology.

Relying on the natural advantages of producing dairy products and the strong support of local and national government, Mengniu has achieved rapid growth in the past 20 years. So far, its products have been exported to countries including Singapore, Mongolia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

Since its establishment, the company has attached great importance to the development of technical standards. Nearly 200 technicians have been appointed to monitor quality standards.

In addition, Mengniu has actively promoted its experience of establishing standards. It has been recognized as a 4A company for its work on standardization and as a national demonstration area of agricultural standardization.

In order to promote the Made in China 2025 strategy, Mengniu will continue to strengthen the establishment and promotion of technical standards for the entire industrial chain.
