A delegation of experts from South Africa and UK visited Zhejiang province to seek cooperation opportunities at the invitation of Zhejiang Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs on March 22.
Their interests are in the most cutting-edge sectors such as high-end equipment, new energy and biological medicine.
Zhejiang has great potential in high-tech industries and it has achieved successful experience and regional development through technological progresses, said Thokozani Majozi, chairperson of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), a world-class research and development organization in South Africa.
Majozi hoped to establish a long-term and sustainable cooperation mechanism to boost the mutual benefits of China and South Africa.
Vice Governor of Zhejiang Wang Wenxu confirmed the irreplaceable role foreign experts have played in the province's innovative development. She extended her expectation that more advanced projects could settle in Zhejiang and promised that the province will provide high-quality services for overseas professionals to ensure they enjoy pleasant living and working conditions.
Zhejiang Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and CSIR signed an agreement on future exchanges and cooperation. It stated that the two sides will work together to set up a platform for talent and projects and organize more exchange activities for experts and companies.
During the stay in Zhejiang, the delegation will visit Hangzhou, Huzhou and Taizhou for matchmaking talks on scientific researches. They will hold discussions with relevant departments on the building of an innovation center and a technology transfer center in the province.
