Car Docs fight for advancement in WorldSkills

Xiamen's first tryout for the 45th WorldSkills Competitions took place on March 23, according to the Xiamen Daily.

Some 22 participants from the coastal city ranging in age from 17 to 21 competed on automobile technology.

This tryout requires participants to have perfect technique and also strong bodies.

The standards of Xiamen's tryouts were in line with those of the WorldSkills Competitions and each participant had to finish their project in three hours.

Over the next few days, nine other tryouts will be held in the city, focused on mobile robotics, mechanical engineering cad, mechatronics, it network systems administration, web design and development, graphic design technology, fashion technology, beauty therapy, and hairdressing.

The top three participants of each tryout will represent Xiamen in Fujian provincial tryouts and will have the opportunity to attend nationwide tryouts where they'll fight for admission to the 45th WorldSkills Competitions to be held in 2019 in Russia.

The WorldSkills Competition occurs every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world truly reflecting global industries.
