中央广播电视总台 (zhōngyāng guǎngbō diànshì zǒngtái)：Central radio and television station

The Communist Party of China Central Committee has released a plan on deepening reform of Party and State institutions and issued a circular asking all regions and departments to implement the plan.

The reform involves restructuring dozens of central departments. Among them, a notable move is the establishing of a central station for radio and television, which will bring together the current China Central Television, China National Radio and China Radio International.

The new central TV and radio station will publicize the theories and policies of the Party, organize major journalistic events and the production of radio and television products, strengthen the media's supervision, and enhance the capability of international communications to tell good China stories.

The new station is expected to develop creative international communication capabilities, in order to strengthen the Party's leadership over public opinion and make the whole TV and broadcasting industry more competitive. The development of the TV and broadcasting industry must also be combined with the development of new media.
