Harbin Shenghengji Sino-Canada School is a Sino-foreign cooperative school funded by Heilongjiang Shenghengji Group and Royal Canadian Education Group. It is staffed and managed by the education team of Sino-Canada School, an internationally renowned education brand.
The teaching team is composed of Chinese and foreign teachers. Some of the Chinese teachers are selected from the Experimental High School affiliated with Beijing Normal University, while others are recruited from across the country. Foreign teachers and the foreign vice-president are selected by the New Brunswick Ministry of Education, Canada.
The foreign vice-president is responsible for the management of Canadian students, their legal status, Canadian curriculum management and the issuing of student graduation certificates. The school implements this system of principal responsibility under the leadership of its council. The council is chaired by President Dr. Peng Jianhua, honorary director of UNESCO's Asia Pacific Region.
The school covers 56,000 square meters and received a total investment of nearly 500 million yuan ($79 million). A 67,000-square-meter construction area now houses a kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school and high school. In addition to the teaching buildings, there are also libraries, swimming pools, laboratories, computer rooms, restaurants and outdoor playgrounds.
Apartment housing for teachers and students covers 45,000 square meters and includes complete support facilities, providing an excellent living, as well as learning, environment.
