Big data has been playing an important role in Guizhou's fight against poverty, said Huo Tao, chairman of Guizhou Baishan Cloud Co Ltd and one of Guizhou NPC deputies.
"Guizhou province has lifted 6.7 million rural people out of poverty over the past five years," said Huo in Beijing on March 16 during a talk show in which NPC deputies shared their opinions on the integration of the internet and rural vitalization.

There is a cloud system using a big data company to record and analyze all the data and information of people living under the poverty line, so that local authorities can help those in need.
Huo also revealed that the next step for Guizhou is to integrate big data and the Internet of Things (IoT). "We hope to install IoT devices in the rural fields to monitor the air, sunlight, rainfall and temperature and moisture levels of soil."
What's more, the Guizhou government plans to output more talents to rural areas to help villagers gain more expertise in producing agricultural products and making profits.
Guizhou's private enterprises should also take the responsibility to help the province get rid of poverty, Huo added.
Along with Huo, NPC deputies from Shaanxi province, Gansu province and the Ningxia Hui autonomous prefecture also attended the talk show.
