The Jinyu (Shanxi province and Henan province) headquarter of Mengxi-Huazhong Railway Co was inaugurated in Sanmenxia, Central China’s Henan province, on Jan 12.
Zhang Mei, chairman of the board and general-manager of Mengxi-Huazhong Railway Co, and Yang Shuping, secretary of the Sanmenxia municipal Party committee, were on hand at the unveiling ceremony. The other attendees of the ceremony included deputy general-managers of the company and city officials.
The newly inaugurated headquarter will be in charge of the construction of a total of 471 km of the Mengxi-Huazhong Railway in Shanxi and Henan provinces. Located in Sanmenxia, the headquarter will manage and coordinate the railway’s construction in four cities and 14 counties (districts).
The Mengxi-Huazhong Railway, stretching 1,817 kilometers through seven provinces, will connect Haolebaoji of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region to Ji’an of Jiangxi province from north to south. It is one of the key railways of the 12th Five-Year Plan and also a significant channel for the state’s strategy to transport coal from north to south.
The railway runs a length of 180 km through Sanmenxia and plays an important role in the city’s transportation. The Jinyu headquarter’s establishment outlines the overall construction of the Mengxi-Huazhong Railway in Sanmenxia. It helps enhance the city’s role as a regional transportation hub and motivates its economic development.
Sanmenxia will provide comprehensive service to support the railway’s construction and seek win-win cooperation with Mengxi-Huazhong Railway Co, according to the ceremony.
