The 10th Shenyang Faku International Siberian Crane Festival is to open at White Crane Tower in Faku county, Shenyang, North China’s Liaoning province, on March 27.
Located in the west of Faku county, Huanzidong National Wetland Park contains wetland measuring 2,047 hectares. The park currently sees more than 800 Siberian cranes this year during the migration season, with the number increasing.
The Siberian crane, also called the white crane, is an endangered species. Huanzidong National Wetland Park is an important stopover site during the migration season.
Violin performances and folk dances will take place during this year’s festival.
Additionally, a photography collection activity themed around the wetland, the tower and Siberian cranes will be held during the festival, and outstanding photographs will be selected for exhibition in the White Crane Tower at the end of this year.
