Want to know the whereabouts of Guangzhou's numerous historic buildings? Here comes an online interactive map.
The Guangzhou Lingnan Architecture Research Center has recently put online an interactive map for the city' first, second, and third groups of historic buildings that have been designated as architecturally significant by the Guangdong provincial government. The total number is 566.
The map, available at the center's WeChat account (fhcc-gz), shows 566 blue points in the city area, each of which represents a historic building. Click on any point, you will see the building's corresponding photos and detailed descriptions. Utilizing the navigation function of mobile phones, Guangzhou residents can easily get to any of these destinations.
The center's official website (www.gzlarc.com) presents even more detailed information of the 566 historic buildings in its "Digital City" section. It offers very accurate information for anyone interested in Guangzhou's architectural history.
The fourth and fifth groups of government-designated historic buildings will be added very soon, according to the director of the center.
