Every March, Wuxi commemorates Lei Feng, a soldier renowned in China for his generosity and altruistic deeds.
A whopping 1.63 million volunteers are doing their part to build Wuxi into an open and inclusive city. The "Learning from Lei Feng" volunteer services span 1,253 communities and villages in Wuxi and encourage a spirit of volunteerism among citizens.
Dozens of primary school students took part in various voluntary "Learning from Lei Feng" activities in Huishan district, Wuxi, including a bazaar and drawing portraits of Lei Feng on March 17.
Volunteers and their parents told the students the story of Lei Feng, encouraging them to follow his example and help others in need.
