If you love plum blossoms, then don't miss the famed plum boulevard at the Wuxi Plum Garden. It was shown on China Central Television (CCTV) before the live broadcast of the National Two Sessions on March 17.
Built in 1912, the appropriately named Meiyuan (Plum Garden) is filled with thousands of plum trees. Plum trees are planted here to enhance the mountain's beauty, and the trees have thrived in this seemingly ideal environment.
As Wuxi's city flower, the annual Plum Festival is running from Feb 10 to March 25 in the Wuxi Plum Garden, and features a series of plum-themed exhibitions and cultural exchange activities. There are a total of 40 species of plum trees that can be found on the mountain and more than 4,000 plum trees spread throughout the garden.
As spring approaches and the weather warms up, all kinds of plants are starting to bud. New leaves are sprouting from willow trees and pink and white flowers dot the parks and riversides. It's the perfect time to go out and enjoy the lively spring scenery.
