Shenzhen has gained another intercontinental connection as Hainan Airlines announced its plan to open direct flights to Brussels, Belgium on March 20.
It is the first intercontinental flight to be opened in Shenzhen this year and the fourth overall to be operated in the city by Hainan Airlines. It will bring Shenzhen one step closer to achieving its goal of becoming an international aviation hub.

The flight, HU759, to Brussels will operate every Tuesday and Thursday, departing from Shenzhen at 12:15 and arriving in the Belgian capital at 17:30. The return flight departs from Brussels at 07:30 and arrives in Shenzhen at 13:50 the following day.
Since 2016, Hainan Airlines has operated three long-distance intercontinental flights and eight short-distance flights in Shenzhen, closely connecting the city with Australia, Europe and Southeast Asia. The flights not only provide great convenience to passengers travelling between these regions, but also boost Shenzhen's international trade and cement its role as an integral part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
