The SEMICON China 2018, one of the world's largest semiconductor industry platforms, launched at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on March 14, displaying the latest semiconductor products and technology.
Running until March 16, the three-day event has attracted more than 1,100 exhibitors from home and abroad.
SEMICON China debuted in Shanghai in 1988 and serves as a platform for global semiconductor manufacturers and research institutes to showcase their products, technology and brands to industry professionals in China.
China has become the world's fastest-growing and most dynamic microelectronics market. The SEMI, a global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chain for the micro- and nano-electronics industries, estimates that a total of 62 wafer-fabrication plants will be built worldwide between 2017 and 2020, of which 26 will be located on the Chinese mainland and nine in Taiwan.
