Guangzhou hosts Bird-loving Week

Guangzhou's Nansha Wetland scenic area hosted the launch ceremony of the Guangdong Bird-loving Week on March 17. Around 300 bird lovers and volunteers attended a series of bird-related popular science activities at the ceremony.

At present, Guangzhou has 251 bird species, accounting for 45.8 percent of the total bird species living in Guangdong province. The best sites for bird-watching in Guangzhou are Nansha Wetland scenic area, Haizhu National Wetland Park, Baiyun Mountain tourist attraction, Liuhua Lake Park, and University Town Bay Jutou Wetland Park.

Primary school students are among the participants of the launch ceremony of the Guangdong Bird-loving Week on March 17.
