Fujian grabs limelight at Two Sessions

The Fujian delegation to the 13th National People's Congress held a press conference in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.

More than 120 reporters from about 90 media outlets across the world, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, ETTV, Hong Kong Commercial Daily, the Wall Street Journal and Reuters participated in the event.

The delegation, headed by Yu Weiguo, Party chief of the Fujian CPC standing committee and Tang Dengjie, governor of Fujian province, answered reporters' questions after deliberating on the Government Work Report.

In terms of rural vitalization, Yu pointed out that Fujian will adhere closely to the roadmap of rural vitalization drawn by President Xi Jinping, which highlights the development of characteristic modern agriculture in the province.

Meanwhile, as for the business environment, Tang pledged to create a business-friendly climate for enterprises, which is more efficient, law-based and in line with international standards.

Other hot issues concerning the province the reporters raised include ecological conservation, poverty alleviation, cross-Straits communication and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

At the conference, Yu also invited the reporters to visit the coastal province, saying "all our media friends are welcomed to visit Fujian and personally experience its vitality".
