Yixing launches various events to attract tourists in spring

The best season to visit Yixing, Jiangsu province, the hometown of purple clay, is fast approaching. The 2018 "Tea and Zen Cultural Experience Journey to Yixing" tourism event will be held from March to June, the Yixing Tourism Bureau announced on March 9.

The "Tea and Zen Cultural Experience Journey to Yixing", named after Hsing Yun, a famous Buddhist master at Fo Kwang Mountain in Taiwan, has become an annual tourism event held in Yixing every spring.

This year's event will focus on all-for-one tourism, transformation and innovation, and green living, giving full reign to the charm of Yixing, known as the "hometown of pottery".

To promote all-for-one tourism, this year's event will include 12 spring travel routes for the travel season, and will include numerous activities such as collecting tea leaves, digging up bamboo shoots, making purple clay teapots, and various water sports activities.

As one of the main activities of the travel season, the vegetarian culture exposition will be held at Dajue Temple from April 28 to May 5. Initiated by Master Hsing Yun, the exposition has been held for six years, advocating vegetarian culture and green living. This event has given more than a million people an opportunity to experience various vegetarian dishes from around the world.
