Yantai unveils major projects for 2018

The Yantai municipal bureau of housing and urban-rural development announced at a conference on March 6 that Yantai is to carry out 130 major projects in 2018 to accelerate construction of the international port city.

With a total investment of 96.8 billion yuan ($14.4 billion), the projects will plays a significant role in boosting Yantai's economic development, promoting its rural revitalization and speeding up its urbanization.

The major construction projects, including the building of Tashannan Lu, Binhaixi Lu and tunnel projects, remain the investment focus for 2018.

To improve residents' livelihoods, the government will carry out 100,000 shanty town transformations which are set to start before October.

The city also rolled out a three-year campaign to improve rural living environments and to continue the Toilet Revolution. By the end of 2018, it will have installed 50,460 new toilets in rural areas.
