Shanghai will accelerate the construction of a smart government this year, said city mayor Ying Yong at a panel discussion of the Shanghai delegation to the National People's Congress on March 6.
The smart government is expected to be highly efficient, give precise services, and offer scientific city management.
The basis of building a smart government is the establishment of the Shanghai Big Data Center, bringing together dispersed and isolated information data and making it accessible to more users.
An integrated governmental affairs service platform is planned, which will allow local citizens to deal with all matters on one platform at one time.
