Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province marked this year’s Lantern Festival, which fell on March 2, with activities including lantern shows and tasting sweet dumplings, according to local media.
Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival, is one of China’s traditional festivals, falling on the 15th day of the first lunar month. It is the first full moon of a new year, which symbolizes unity and perfection. The festival marks the official end of the Spring Festival holiday period.
