The Qipao is a traditional Chinese outfit, with a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1636-1911). It was designated as national dress by Huang Taiji, the second emperor of the dynasty in Shengjing (the name of Shenyang during the Qing Dynasty). It got its name from the Manchu people, who were once called “qiren”. [Photo/syd.com.cn]
