50,000-plus needy people benefit from charity programs in Wangcheng

March is the "Charity Publicity Month" in Wangcheng district and Mar 5 is Wangcheng district's "Charity Day". On that day, Civil Affairs Bureau of Wangcheng district and Lei Feng Charity Foundation of Wangcheng district launched an activity themed "Lei Feng Charity Warms Wangcheng District" and carried out a fund-raising activity at the same time.

Lei Feng Charity Foundation of Wangcheng District issued a proposal of charitable fund-raising activity. People were welcomed to participate in the activity to learn from Lei Feng and show their true love. All the money raised will be specifically used for the people in need in Wangcheng district.

Since its establishment in 2008, Lei Feng Charity Foundation has raised 141 million yuan ($22.28 million), 98.7 million yuan of which was allocated to help the students and patients with financial difficulties, and the poor, and for the emergence and flood rescue, benefiting over 50,000 people.
