Delegates from Inner Mongolia autonomous region to the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress held a plenary meeting in Beijing on March 3.
Li Jiheng, Party secretary of Inner Mongolia, was appointed head of the delegation, while Bu Xiaolin, chairwoman of the autonomous region, was elected its deputy director.
Deputies voted on a draft roster of the presidium and arranged the agenda of the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress.
In his speech, Li demanded that all delegates raise their political awareness, insist on carefully considering vital issues from political work to the overall situation, and scrutinize government work reports and other documents.
“We should focus on the topics of the congress and combine the actual work with the overall situation,” Li said. “Deputies should also enthusiastically deliver honest opinions and fully reflect the wishes of the people.”
Li emphasized that deputies must conscientiously propose high-quality motions in close coordination with the implementation of the 19th CPC National Congress’s major policies and decisions given the reality of economic and social development in the autonomous region.
