The Qingdao municipal government and the State Information Center signed the memorandum of strategic cooperation on March 1 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province to jointly build the Qingdao (Chengyang) International Innovation Eco-Town of State Information Center.
According to the memorandum of cooperation, the two sides will carry out all-round cooperation in several areas such as decision-making, information services, talent development, and policy research.
The Qingdao (Chengyang) International Innovation Eco-Town will integrate the State Information Center's science and education resources to help promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of Qingdao's Chengyang district and shift growth drivers from old to new.
The initial stage of the eco-town is designed with an area of 3,000 mu (200 hectares), including areas for innovative industries, service centers, research centers, office buildings, incubators, living facilities and a commercial complex.
