The Sapeke Bridge reconstruction project in the Central African Republic (CAR), which was undertaken by Shanxi Construction Investment Group, was opened to traffic in the country's capital Bangui on March 1.
Officials from the country recognized the efforts and contribution of Shanxi builders to local transportation and awarded them the country's top medals of honor, at the completion ceremony for the bridge in Bangui.
The Sapeke Bridge is located on the RN6 road, which is the trunk road for Bangui serving the northern and western parts of the country. Faced with poor weather conditions and a lack of materials, Shanxi Construction Investment Group spent over one year completing the project, creating jobs for more than 300 locals and training 100 technicians for the city.
