Two quay cranes manufactured by Sany Marine Heavy Industry were shipped to Bangkok Port on Feb 26, laying the foundation for the company's further expansion into Southeast Asia and the international market.

According to Sany, the shipping container-lifting cranes are tailored to specifications laid out by the Port Authority of Thailand, the largest port management organization in that country.

Noted for light weight and high efficiency, quay cranes are said to be economical and easy to maintain. They are designed to further increase Bangkok Port’s container-handling capability.

Based in the Gaolan Port Economic Zone, Sany Marine Heavy Industry is an international wholly funded branch of Sany Group Co Ltd. The parent company is the largest domestic engineering machinery manufacturer and the fifth-largest internationally.

In 2012, the company built Sany Marine Heavy Industrial Park in Zhuhai. The modern port logistics and marine equipment base has a total area of 3.6 sq km (306 hectares or 889 acres), coastline of 3.5 km (2.17 miles), several berths, and annual output of 30 billion yuan ($4.76 billion).

Due to increased business capability, the company has seen a spike in orders in recent years from more than 20 countries, including the United States, South Korea, Costa Rica, Saudi Arabia, Burma, and Turkey. Sany products are valued for quality, safety, and reliability.

On Feb 23, a shipment of quay cranes manufactured for Latin American customers was delivered to a port of Costa Rica. And last June 26, six electric rubber-tire container gantry (ERTG) cranes developed by Sany Gaolan were shipped to India's largest container port in Mumbai.
