From sizzling grilled squid to steamed sea chestnut, Pichai Yuan (or Pichai Courtyard) in the coastal city of Qingdao in East China's Shandong province boasts a string of mouthwatering street foods that attract both locals and tourists. It has been known as the center for snacks nationwide since the 1940s.
During Spring Festival, tens of thousands of visitors come here for culinary exploration. Trying out a motley variety of street food in Pichai Yuan has become a new thing for the Chinese New Year celebration.
