The SuperStar Gemini from Hong Kong's cruise company Star Cruises is projected to run 53 trips based on Xiamen port from April to October, according to Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Co.
The ship plans to start sailing at Xiamen port on April 28, including routes to Japan and Southeast Asia.
The SuperStar Gemini, running based on Xiamen port numerous times, can accommodate 1,526 guests, well equipped with recreational, dining and shopping facilities.
"The ship has set new records for the number of shipping routes and time span of a single ship at Xiamen port," said the head of Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Co.
In recent years, Xiamen cruise home port has received increasing number of cruises.
With the help of the Superstar Gemini, more than 100 cruise trips are expected to sail from Xiamen cruise home port this year, a 23 percent increase year-on-year.
"Now ships can sail from Xiamen home port in all seasons," said the head of Xiamen Port Holding Group. "Different levels of products offered by the port can satisfy the different demands of the tourists."
The Xiamen international cruise home port will finish updating this year, capable of receiving a 220,000-ton cruise ship, the largest one in the world, or three to four large and medium-scaled cruise ships at the same time.
