Exhibits weighing over 1000 tons have entered China over the past several days from Germany, Turkey, India, Greece, and other countries, getting ready for the 18th Xiamen International Stone Fair.
The stone fair is set to take place from March 6 to 8 at Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center.
With a total exhibition area of 180,000 square meters, the fair includes four major exhibition areas: domestic stone area, machinery and tools area, international area and outdoor area, housing 9,300 booths for over 2,000 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions.
World Stone Congress is also expected to be held during the fair and experts from stone industry are invited to deliver keynote speeches, such as product design with natural stone by Kathy Spanier and Dan Rea from the USA and the relationship between the make-up of a stone and its technical behavior by Hans-Dieter Hensel from Australia.
"At present, the stone fair has grown into the largest scaled one of its kind in the world and received great attention from related industries at home and abroad after 17 years' development," head of the fair's sponsor Xiamen Trade and Development Bureau said.
The stone fair's successful hosting will boost the stone and related industries' development in southern Fujian province and also help Xiamen to build a renowned international MICE city (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition).
