Local authorities in Ordos, in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, held a ceremony to mark the launch of a volunteer program to serve passengers during the Spring Festival travel rush, on Feb 6.
The program will last for one month and is estimated to involve more than 1,000 volunteers, who will provide various services to passengers and drivers at the train station, airport and expressway service zone.
It is said that the program has been held in Ordos for several years. Local residents can sign up to volunteer for the program online and their service hours are then recorded in their credit files.
