Erhu composition Sanmen Gorge Rhapsody has been chosen to represent Sanmenxia city on the CCTV, according to a Feb 12 report by ismx.cn.
A total of 12 college students from Sanmenxia received nationwide praise when they performed for veteran artists at the Spring Festival gala.
The show was recorded at the Communication University of China in Beijing on Feb 8 and will be broadcast on Channel 3 of China Central Television (CCTV) on Feb 25.

The event, which was jointly hosted by the China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television and the China Literature and Art Foundation and organized by the China Film Critics Association and China Council for the Social Organization Federation of Radio, Film and Television Actors, aims to promote the city’s unique traditional culture and pay tribute to the invaluable cultural contribution of veteran artists.
Sanmen Gorge Rhapsody, an erhu composition by Liu Wenjin, one of China's most distinguished artists since 1960, pays homage to the industrious working people of China, specifically those who shed their blood, sweat and tears to construct the Sanmenxia Dam.
