Smartphone manufacturer Meizu Technology Co Ltd (魅族科技) was established in 2003 along the Technological Innovation Coast of the National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan). 

The company grew and thrived through its development of high-quality MP3s which proved to be a market favorite. Following their success in the audio industry, Meizu later expanded into the smartphone market in 2008, where they were able to quickly establish a strong market share due to strong sales. The products were well-received because of innovative and user-friendly designs characterized by simplicity, elegant user interfaces and premium sound quality.

Currently, the company employs more than 1,000 employees across its 600 retail stores, and has built a presence amongst many international markets.
