The robots on the two production lines of Dalian COSCO Khi Ship Engineering Co are welding parts accurately as programmed.
The company boasts new achievements in intelligent shipbuilding in China, such as automatic assembly, a streamlined process of manufacturing, intelligentized control and efficient management.

The development zone has been boosting the national economy through implementing a strategy of innovation-driven development in its pillar industries, including shipbuilding, rail transportation, high-end equipment manufacturing and port logistics.
According to local authorities, a group of new projects will be launched to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the development zone. They include Oracle’s innovation and entrepreneurship base for technological talents, a state-level e-commerce platform of Dalian University of Science and Technology and a maker space.
These projects will help build a research and development platform and promote industry-university-research cooperation, and are expected to speed up commercialization of scientific achievements.
There are six state-level, three provincial-level and eight municipal-level research institutes in the zone. It is also home to 16 high-tech firms.
Four tenants in the zone including Sifangjiate Fluid System Co were rewarded for their scientific research projects by the municipal government of Dalian in 2017.
CRRC Dalian Institute Co will open a branch in the zone soon. The one-billion-yuan project will come into operation this year and is expected to generate 800 million yuan ($122.89) in sales revenue.
In addition, a control chip developed by CRRC Dalian R&D Co will be industrialized to facilitate the development of China’s high-speed train manufacturing.
