Boao Forum for Asia

The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization with a fixed conference date and domicile. Since 2002, BFA has been holding its annual conference at Boao in Hainan province.

Greatly supported by Asian countries, BFA has won global attention sincethe beginning. Committing itself to pushing forward the common development of Asian countries through further integration of regional economies,it has grown into a high-level platform for dialogue among leaders from government, business and academic circles in countries in Asia and further afield on the important issues of the day.

Hainan World Leisure Tourism Expo

The Hainan World Leisure Tourism Expo, an international comprehensive exhibition hosted by the Hainan Tourism Development Committee, has taken place every year in Haikou since 2016.

As a provincial-level key project, the expo aims to integrate the world's top leisure tourism resources and enhance strategic communication between Hainan and other international recreational resorts, promoting the international influence of Hainan and building it into a world-class leisure tourism destination.

Tour of Hainan

The Tour of Hainan is a large-scale international cycling race held every October since 2006 in Hainan. The event aims to advocate a healthy, green cycling culture and promote green transportation and low-carbon living.

Through years of success, the event has grown into one of the top three cycling road races in Asia, with the other two being Le Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia and the Tour of Qinghai Lake. It is next only to the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the Tour of Spainglobally. Relying on the cycling race platform, the event is expected to push forward the integrated development of sports and tourism, giving rise to all-for-one tourism in Hainan.

Round Hainan Regatta

Founded in 2010 on Hainan Island, the Round Hainan Regatta has already been held in March nine times under the guidance of the General Administration of Sport. Sponsored by the Hainan Provincial People's Government, the annual international event is a key sporting competition jointly supported by nine governmental departments. Enjoying the honor of "China's First Offshore Regatta", it has developed into a State-level event with the longest sea route in China.

Hainan (Sanya) International Marathon

The Hainan (Sanya) International Marathon, a non-professional competition,uses the theme"Run with Sanya" to attract more foreign visitors.

Combining varied elements, including sports, tourism and health care, the event aims to be a universal sports feast with Sanya characteristics, offering visitors a chance to experience the distinctive tropical scenery of the city.

Sanya Energy International Forum

The 2017 Sanya Energy International Forum, held in Sanya on Dec 7 and 8, 2017, was on the theme of "Green Energy and Low-Carbon Economy", attracting nearly 300 foreign and domestic authoritative experts and scholars to probe the present situation of energy utilization and the development of clean energy and smart cities.

It was supported by the National Energy Administration, Hainan Development and Reform Commission and Sanya municipal people's government,while being sponsored by the China Association of Policy Science, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and Changfeng Energy Inc.

Hainan Open

Starting form 2009, the 10th Hainan Open was staged in Sanya from Oct 11 to 14,2018. As one of the European Challenge Tour finals, the Hainan Open has attracted top 30 competitors (according to their points ranking), offering golf fans a fierce and exciting competition. Through a decade of development, the event has become more comprehensive,integrating junior, amateur and professional golf championships.

Sanya Forum

Having ran six times since 2012, the Sanya Forum has blossomed into an international high-end finance and economics forum which draws global attention. Hosted by the China Association for International Friendly Contact and organized by Caijing magazine, the forum devotes itself to bringing together the most influential government decision-makers and leaders from around the world. Guests have an in-depth exploration of the hot issues in finance and economics and propose their ideas and solutions for meeting challenges in business.

China (Hainan) International Ocean Industry Expo

Dating from 2009, the China (Hainan) International Ocean Industry Expo provides a great platform for outsiders to get to know Hainan. Depending on the three local advantages of setting up the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone,a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, and the deepening the reform and opening-up of Hainan, the expo aims to implement the provincial strategy of further developing the maritime economy.

Moreover, the expo is expected to highlight the outstanding achievements over the years that Hainan has made in the marine industry, as well as promote the cooperation and communication between China and overseas areas in order to upgrade the marine industrial structure.
