The LNG boat "CESI BEIHAI" has arrived in Sinopec Tianjin LNG terminal from Australia, marking the terminal's debut. The volume of liquefied natural gas it carried as part of the first phase of the Sinopec Tianjin LNG project is equal to the volume used by of 1,000 families in a year, so the vessel's arrival had changed the gas supply situation in North China.

The Sinopec Tianjin LNG project, located in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area Nan Gang Industrial Zone, is an important element of the National 13th Five-year Plan(2016-2020) and the national natural gas assurance project.
The future north China natural gas network will cover Tianjin, Hebei province and Shandong province.
There are two LNG projects in Tianjin – the Sinopec Tianjin LNG project and the CNOOC Tianjin LNG project. Together they will process 5.2 million tons of liquefied natural gas a year. Their second phases are under construction, and on completion will finalize the biggest liquefied natural gas acceptance zone in North China.
