The coastal city of Yantai, East China's Shandong province was recognized as the most livable tourist city in China in 2017, according to a list released on Jan 20 in Beijing by Global Times.
The list was compiled based on criteria such as reputation, renovation, competitiveness, investment environment, ecological environment, residents' happiness, tourist reception, life quality, social security and standards of consumption.
Thanks to its unique tourism resources, perfect infrastructure, and outstanding tourist reception, Yantai dwarfed more than 20 candidates to win the honor.
