A policy of "Internet plus public service" has been recently adopted in Jilin province to promote construction of an integrated government affair service platform and better serve residents and enterprises in the province.
As public service keeps improving, problems of data islands and information barriers emerge.
A data island is a data store that is independent of others and an information barrier is an obstacle that prevents connections between departments in an organization or among enterprises.
Tackling such issues is a key to the development of the "Internet plus public service" policy in the province.
The provincial government is now building a new information net that can exchange and manage the data flexibility of governments and enterprises and at the same time integrate the information.
In the past year, the government has dealt with more than 4,272,300 public affairs and the processing time has been reduced by 70.5 percent compared to the days without the platform.
The government is now improving the platform and aims to provide more convenient and efficient services to people in the province.
