Passengers using automated border control lanes at the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport can print their latest exit-entry travel record statements free of charge, without needing an additional exit or entry stamp from Feb 1, according to the Xiamen General Station of Immigration Inspection.
The self-service exit-entry travel is one of the eight measures taken by the Ministry of Public Security for the convenience of exit-entry travelers.
According to the ministry, such statements adopt various anti-counterfeit technologies and have the same effect as an exit or entry stamp affixed to a passenger's travel document.
Industrial insiders reckon this is good news for frequent travelers and businessmen whose passports need to be often renewed due to shortage of blank pages for stamps. The move can also bring great convenience to passengers who have varying transactional requirements such as tax refunds, reimbursement and visa write-offs.
The new measure will attract more passengers to use the automated border control lanes launched at the airport in 2017.
