Four keys to promoting high-quality development in Wuxi

Party secretary Li Xiaomin said in his speech at the third session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress on Jan 26 that the Wuxi government plans to pursue high-quality development and lead the way in increasing Jiangsu's competitiveness.

Inspired by the government report of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, the work report of the Jiangsu provincial government clearly proposed six ways to promote high-quality development, namely economic development, reform and opening up, urban and rural development, cultural development, and improving the environment and people's livelihood.

With Wuxi's increasing wealth, Jiangsu has now become China's only province with three cities that have a GDP above one trillion yuan, Nanjing and Suzhou being the other two. In order to pursue both practical and conscientious high-quality development, Wuxi's Party secretary Li Xiaomin has put forward four keys” in his report.

The key to promoting the real economy is improving the manufacturing industry.

The manufacturing industry is a significant part of the real economy in Wuxi, and the development of the real economy should rely primarily on this industry to accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system that takes emerging industries as its guide, the advanced manufacturing industry as its primary component, and the modern service industry as its support.

The key to developing the manufacturing industry is intelligent manufacturing.

Focusing on smart manufacturing, Wuxi should increase the use of big data, cloud computing, and IoT technology within the manufacturing industrial chain to promote the reform of research and development, production, and business models.

The key to stimulating intelligent manufacturing is through tech innovation.

Tech innovation, spurred on by enterprise, can create new industrial possibilities, which will improve the quality and applicability of Wuxi's industries, making them more competitive.

The four "keys" are closely intertwined and can only promote high-quality development in Wuxi when industrialization and IT applications are combined.
