The 2018 Spring Festival travel rush started on Feb 1. According to estimates, more than 8.13 million people will be traveling through Wuxi, Jiangsu province via railway, highway and airplane.
To deal with the huge quantity of travelers, local departments have responded with temporary passenger trains and increased flights to ensure a smooth journey for everyone.

Highways have added buses to over 50 cities, including Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng and Xi'an. Moreover, migrant workers with specific difficulties are provided with free travel assistance by bus stations.
A total of 38 pairs of daily trains have been added to carry passengers to and from Wuxi. The first and second floor of the South Square of Wuxi Railway Station, which has been under construction since May 2016, will be accessible to passengers before Feb 5.
Wuxi Shuofang International Airport will schedule 44 flights (a 7 percent increase from last year) from Wuxi to other cities, regions and countries, including 29 domestic destinations and 15 international and regional destinations.
The airport also arranges shuttle buses to Jiangyin, Yixing, Suzhou, Zhangjiagang, Jingang, Changshu, Jingjiang, Nantong, Taizhou, Changzhou and Wuxi Railway Station.
